Kasaragod is a district located in the northernmost part of the Indian state of Kerala. The district has a diverse geography that includes a long coastline, hills, forests, rivers, and backwaters.

The district is situated at the foothills of the Western Ghats, a mountain range that runs parallel to the western coast of India. The highest peak in the district is Ranipuram, which is situated at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level. The district of Kasaragod has a tropical monsoon climate, with heavy rainfall during the monsoon season (June-September) and warm temperatures throughout the year. The average annual rainfall in the region is around 3,500 mm.
