Kozhikode is located on the Malabar Coast of the Arabian Sea. Kozhikode is the third-largest urban agglomeration in Kerala and the headquarters of the Kozhikode district. 

Kozhikode has an area of 2344 square the sandy coastal belt is 362.85 sq. kms, lateritic midlands 1343.50 sq. kms and rocky highlands 637.65 sq. It is surrounded by the Arabian Sea to the west and the districts of Kannur and Wayanad to the east.
